Lisa Premke first studied architecture and later Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam before earning her Master of Sound for the Moving Image at the Glasgow School of Art. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, including the Kochi Muziris Biennale Pepperhouse Residency in India, Studio 1 Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, and Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam. For her site-specific projects she has been repeatedly invited to international residency scholarships, such as 48h Novosibirsk (Sibiria), the Kochi Biennale Foundation (India), the Košice Artist in Residence (Slovakia) and the Binaural Nodar (Portugal). As a sound and space designer Lisa has been working for years in collaboration with various artists, filmmakers and choreographers. In 2021 she has been nominated for the Berlin Art prize Haus am Kleistpark.

In her work, Premke searches for traces of collective systems in objects and materials and gives them an independent voice and narration. She examines the voice of objects and spaces to personify collective losses. Her large-scale architectonic sound installations predominantly link to the site with their contexts, aesthetics and audio.

Lisa lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
